The FJ44-2 is a remarkably efficient fanjet that provides superior performance. Through the application of Williams International's third-generation wide-sweep fan technology, the outstanding weight and efficiency of the FJ44-2 enables aircraft to attain cruise performance that is competitive with much larger, more expensive business jets, while retaining the low operating and acquisition costs associated with turboprops. The FJ44-2 was first FAA certified in 1997 and is the engine of choice for several aircraft.
The FJ44-2 uses the same core and LP turbine as the FJ44-1. The unique fan and compressor sections of the FJ44-2 are a direct result of over 30 years experience with integrally bladed fans and compressors (blisks) used in various Williams International turbofan engines.
The FJ44-2 maintains the modest turbine temperatures of the FJ44-1 and retains all of Williams International's unique low-cost turbofan technology, such as the uncooled, high-pressure turbine, effusion-cooled combustor, and high-work, two-stage LP turbine. These components have all been thoroughly tested and proven for long endurance and long cycle life in the FJ44-1 program. A version of the FJ44-2 has been tested to 65,000 feet pressure altitude.
The outstanding combination of thrust, weight, and specific fuel rate at 40,000 ft., Mach 0.8 makes the FJ44-2 the ideal choice when you seek cruise performance for the dollar.
